How to Become a Windows Insider for Windows 11 Beta?

Microsoft will start the Windows 11 beta program in the beginning of June, 2021.

To be able to upgrade your current Windows to Windows 11 before it is released for everyone next fall, you need to join Microsoft's Windows Insider program.

There are three different channels in this program:

  • DEV Channel: Ideal for highly technical users. Be the first to access the latest Windows 11 builds earliest in the development cycle with the newest code. There will be some rough edges and low stability (I'm in this channel because I'm a developer).

  • BETA Channel (Recommended): Ideal for early adopters. These Windows 11 builds will be more reliable than builds from our Dev Channel, with updates validated by Microsoft. Your feedback has the greatest impact here.

  • Release Preview Channel: Ideal if you want to preview fixes and certain key features, plus get optional access to the next version of Windows 10 before it's generally available to the world. This cannel is also recommended for commercial users.

If you've choose the channel what you want to join, let's start the journey 😊

Becoming a Windows Insider

  1. Open Start Menu and type "Windows Insider", then click on Windows Insider Program Settings.

  2. If you see the message like the one below, you need to change your Diagnostic & Feedback settings. Because this program needs your feedbacks and diagnostic data, you need to allow these options. To fix this problem, click Fix the problem 😎

How buggy were the previous builds in DEV channel according to your experience?
I want to signup for it in my main daily usage laptop and afraid of issues.

If you don't have an extra PC and need your laptop for daily usage, I recommend not signing up for the DEV channel.

Because my job is related to operating systems, I need to try them as soon as possible. If I didn't have to do this, I would sign up for the Beta channel.
